Edward Tomey started his own consulting practice with business, industry and nonprofit organizations more than 35 years ago, after spending several years as an Air Force officer and corporate vice president.

As an educator, Mr. Tomey was on the faculty at Harvard University for eight years and at Antioch University New England for more than 30 years, teaching courses in leadership, management and professional communications. He retired as Professor Emeritus from Antioch University in 1999 and continued to teach courses in leadership and career development as an adjunct professor until 2009.

In 2004, Antioch University honored Mr. Tomey by establishing the Edward J. Tomey Center for Organization Development. The Tomey Center supports the development of vibrant, successful, sustainable organizations in the nonprofit, public and for-profit sectors.

Mr. Tomey earned his bachelor’s degree at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and his master’s degree at Harvard University.

He lives on 25 acres in New Hampshire with his wife, Maich Gardner. They have four adult children and eight grandchildren. When not consulting or coaching, Mr. Tomey enjoys tennis, skiing, gardening, studying jazz piano, performing in an a cappella jazz vocal group and managing the land on his Kubota tractor.
